Tromostovje in Prešernov spomenik / Triple Bridge and Prešeren Monument

Prešernov trg z znamenitim Tromostovjem in spomenikom največjemu slovenskemu pesniku predstavlja geografsko in kulturno središče slovenske prestolnice. Edinstveno Tromostovje je arhitekturna mojstrovina Jožeta Plečnika iz leta 1932. Plečnik je osrednjemu kamnitemu mostu iz 19. stoletja dodal dva stranska pešmostova z elegantnimi balustradami ter ustvaril veličasten vhod v staro mestno jedro. Tik ob mostu stoji Prešernov spomenik, delo kiparja Ivana Zajca iz leta 1905, ki upodablja pesnika Franceta Prešerna z muzo poezije. Pesnikov pogled je premišljeno usmerjen čez trg proti oknu hiše na Wolfovi ulici, kjer je živela njegova neuslišana ljubezen Julija Primic. Danes je celoten ambient osrednje zbirališče domačinov in turistov, obdano s čudovito secesijsko arhitekturo ter odprtim pogledom na Ljubljanski grad. /// Prešeren Square, anchored by the iconic Triple Bridge and the monument to Slovenia’s national poet, forms the vibrant social and cultural core of Ljubljana. The unique Triple Bridge is an architectural masterpiece designed by Jože Plečnik in 1932. Plečnik added two pedestrian side bridges with elegant balustrades to the original 19th-century stone bridge, creating a seamless and grand entrance into the Old Town. Standing prominently on the square is the Prešeren Monument, sculpted by Ivan Zajec and unveiled in 1905. The bronze statue honors poet France Prešeren beneath a muse of poetry, with his gaze symbolically directed across the square toward the window of his unrequited love, Julija Primic. Today, the area serves as the city’s primary meeting spot, framed by striking Art Nouveau architecture and scenic views leading up to Ljubljana Castle.
