Zavetišče v Hudičev borštu / The Hudičev Boršt Mountain Hut

Zavetišče v Hudičev borštu (1328 m) stoji na južnem pobočju Zaplate v Kamniško-Savinjskih Alpah. Priljubljena postojanka, do katere vodi najbolj znana pot iz vasi Mače nad Preddvorom (cca 2 h hoje), ponuja čudovit razgled na Gorenjsko ravnino, Sorško polje ter Julijce s Triglavom. Ob obratovanju nudi zavetje in okrepčilo ter služi kot izhodišče za vzpon proti Cerkveniku ali Srednjemu vrhu. Lokacija je tudi priljubljeno vzletišče za jadralne padalce. Največja posebnost lokacije je osamljen gozdni otok sredi goli, o katerem kroži znana legenda. Kmeta v dolini sta se prepirala za gozd, dokler ni eden vzkliknil, naj ga vzame hudič. Prikazal se je vrag, izrval gozd in ga nesel proti gori. Ko je dosegel pobočje Zaplate, je zapel petelin. Hudič je v hipu izgubil moč in izpustil breme, gozd pa je ostal uklenjen na gori, koder stoji še danes. /// Hudičev Boršt Mountain Hut (1,328 m) sits on the southern slope of Zaplata in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Reachable via a 2-hour hike from Mače near Preddvor, it offers sweeping views over the Gorenjska plain, Sorško Polje, and the Julian Alps with Mount Triglav. When open, it provides shelter and refreshments, serving as a gateway to higher peaks like Cerkvenik and Srednji Vrh, as well as a popular takeoff spot for paragliders. The area’s hallmark is an isolated forest patch standing alone on the slope, tied to a famous folklore tale. Two farmers were arguing over a forest until one cursed, "Let the devil take it!" The devil appeared, uprooted the woods, and carried them up the mountain. As he reached Zaplata, a rooster crowed, stripping him of his power. He dropped the heavy load, leaving the forest stranded high on the mountain where it stands today.
