Stand where someone stood previously and take the same photo. Ephemeros lines the two up, and the time between them starts to move — a coastline retreating, a skyline rising, a garden filling in.
Whatever you pick, it's about 30 seconds a visit.
Open the map and you'll see spots — viewpoints other people have already photographed. Tap one and you're adding the next frame to a story someone else began. No setup: just show up and shoot.
The last photo floats over your camera as a see-through ghost, with live compass and tilt guides. Line up the skyline and you're within a degree of the original framing — we straighten the rest afterwards.
Every capture joins the spot's series and rebuilds its timelapse automatically. Come back in a season and the thing you photographed is visibly, undeniably different. That's the moment people get hooked.
Found a view worth tracking? One baseline photo starts a new spot. Group spots into a list — your street, your reserve, your project — and invite friends, a class, or a whole community to keep it fed.
Only create spots where you have lawful access; get the landowner's permission on private land.
Every aligned series joins an open dataset researchers use to study environmental and urban change. Because photos are taken in-app, each one carries real location, orientation and weather — that's what turns a nice photo into evidence.
