What happens after you upload

Every photo goes through a short review before it appears publicly.

The review pipeline

  1. Upload — your photo syncs when you're online (you can capture offline; it waits in the outbox).
  2. Moderation — a moderator checks that the photo matches the spot and follows the guidelines.
  3. Published — approved photos join the spot's timeline and timelapse.

Points and trust

  • You earn points for approved spots and photos — see your total on the profile screen and the leaderboard.
  • A streak of approved photos makes you a trusted contributor: your uploads then publish faster.
  • Declined photos show the reason in My spots & photos. Fix the issue (usually alignment or an unsuitable subject) and try again.

House rules

  • Photos must be taken in the app, at the spot — that's what makes the dataset scientifically useful.
  • No people as the main subject, no private property, nothing unsafe.
